Pumpkin Farm Fun ~ Part 2!

The CORN Maze

This is always a fun one, they do a great job with the maze and it was even slightly different from last year! (Or maybe I just forgot!)

Ready, set, here we go!

There are lots of twists and turns and dead ends in the maze!

Sometimes you just don't know which way to go! :~)

But you keep trying and if you go the wrong way you just have to turn around and backtrack!

There's a funny scarecrow along the way.

And a wolf hiding among the corn stalks. If you aren't paying attention this guy can sneak up on you! The people ahead of us screamed so we already knew something was up before we got to this little guy!

There are lots of signs to help you on the way...

But if you don't take their advice...

You just end up going the wrong way!!

The boys have said that the corn maze is one of their favorite things to do at the pumpkin farm!

Of course they say the same thing when we do the hayride, or  the train ride or when we find our pumpkins in the pumpkin patch!! :~)

Part 3 will be on the way soon!

Pumpkin Farm Fun ~ Part 1!

Last year we went over to Chino Valley and visited the Freeman Pumpkin Farm! We loved it so much that we kept the tradition going and went again this year!

It's not only a pumpkin patch but has all kinds of activities for the family to do together. Over the next few posts I'm going to be talking about all the fun things we did there. Also I have SO many pictures that it's easier if I break it down over a number of posts!!

Check out the little warning sign in the first picture...a little scary, the farm seems like such a nice safe place, apparently it is filled with danger lurking around every corner though. At first I thought maybe it was a joke, but I saw the same warning in various places around the farm. Good thing we were careful!

There are plenty of animals to pet including this adorable mule named Rudy!

And horses to watch galloping around and doing tricks!

They have tractors of all sizes that the kids can ride on.

Well not really ride, sit on more like it, but the kids enjoyed it just the same.

I even got in on the tractor sitting action this year!

Somehow though I just don't think it's my thing!

Stay tuned for Part 2 of Pumpkin Farm Fun!

We finally got smart

At least in this regard...

I have to say this is one of the best purchases we have made in a long time!!

We received this awesome umbrella in the mail this last week and used it at our sons soccer game this last Saturday!! It was wonderful! I don't know how we did it without it!

If you can't tell from the picture it's a huge umbrella that has little side parts that come down and you can even stake it to the ground like a tent if it's windy!

It definitely made the soccer game more enjoyable!!

A night with a friend

I recently had a night out with my good friend Kristy. We were heading to see a Jack Johnson concert in Phoenix.

Of course we made a day of it and went shopping before hand.
We also went here...

And had the Orange Chicken...my favorite!

And we had this...

Look at Kristy with her spoon ready to dig in!! Can't blame her, it was sooo good!

After shopping and dinner we headed to our concert! We had grass seats but I brought a couple of thick blankets, so we layered them on the ground and it was actually pretty comfortable!
I actually prefer the grass seats, you can stretch your legs and even lay down if you want!

Here is our view from our spot on the grass!

It was a late but fun night! Jack is a great entertainer! I think one of the things I liked about him most was that you could tell he is a family man and loves his wife!

All in all a great day! Plus I didn't have to drive!! Thanks Kristy for doing that, sorry I fell asleep on the way home! :-)

A 3D Movie Experience

We recently took the kids to see the 3D Movie Legends of the Guardians!

Derek thought it was pretty cool to get special glasses to wear at the theatre. Although less than halfway through the movie he got tired of wearing them and left them off!

The movie was good and the 3D effects pretty cool.

It was a fun time to spend together as a family. We had yummy snacks to eat and a fun movie to watch!

It's been a long time since I've gone to a 3D Movie, the glasses got a little annoying for me to wear too but not wearing them was even worse as the movie was all blurry, I don't know how Derek watched it without his glasses!
